Abstract
Valvular heart disease is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. Rates increase with age and the prevalence will increase as the population ages. Several factors have led to an interest in expanding percutaneous valve repair and replacement techniques to more lesions in more patients. This review explores current percutaneous valve repair and replacement techniques in mitral stenosis, mitral regurgitation, aortic stenosis and aortic regurgitation in adults, outlines the future directions, and discusses some technique-related issues.Entities:
