Abstract
The material covered in this article is divided into two parts: the initial portion summarizes information pertaining to the definition of structural abnormalities, attributed to arterial hypertension, that affects the intraparenchymal cerebral blood vessels. After a brief mention of the brain parenchymal lesions that accompany hypertensive arteriopathies, important modern mechanistic concepts that are derived primarily from animal observations are summarized.Entities:
