Abstract
The presence of inflammation and remodeling within the bone of the paranasal sinuses has been demonstrated in animal and human models of chronic rhinosinusitis. This form of osteitis is present in the underlying bone of affected mucosa and can spread to involve distant sites within the paranasal sinuses. This potential for distant involvement has implications for the medical and surgical management of chronic rhinosinusitis and may contribute to chronic rhinosinusitis refractory to management.Entities:
