Abstract
Pigmented villonodular synovitis is a benign proliferative lesion of the synovium with unclear etiology. It is a locally aggressive lesion that may invade and destroy surrounding bone and soft tissues and represents a high rate of recurrence despite aggressive treatment modalities. This article describes the new developments in etiology and outlines current approaches for diagnosis and treatment.Entities:
