Rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease in the tropics with particular reference to Nigeria.

This is a review of current literature on rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease in tropical and sub-tropical countries. The pattern involved in each case has been briefly described and compared with that in the temperate countries. Certain peculiarities in tropical and sub-tropical countries have been commented on and suggestions made for future research.
