Ocular manifestations in diabetes mellitus: an experience at Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital.

Abstract

A prospective study was conducted at Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital from March to June 2004 to find out the ocular manifestations of diabetes mellitus. A total of 120 patients were included. Diabetic retinopathy was the predominant finding, with non proliferative diabetic retinopathy accounting for 46.5% and proliferative diabetic retinopathy for 0.8%. In anterior segment diseases cataract accounted for 38.3%.
