AIDS-related non-Hodgkin's lymphomas.

John Krause1.

Abstract

This work reviews the current status of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) in HIV infected patients. HIV infection remains at significantly increased risk for the development of NHL. The great majority of these lymphomas are high-grade monoclonal B-cell neoplasms often occurring in unusual sites. A number of genetic abnormalities have been found but additional studies are necessary to understand the etiology and pathogenesis of NHL in the setting of HIV infection. The cases in this paper have been seen on the Hematopathology service of the Tulane Health Sciences Center. 2005 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
