Abstract
We report the case of a 39-year-old patient suffering from acute pericarditis accompanied by considerable pericardial effusion, most probably secondary to acute Epstein-Barr virus infection, an etiology uncommonly reported with pericardial inflammation and effusion. Diagnostic aspects and the approach to etiologic evaluation are discussed.Entities:
