Abstract
BACKGROUND: Goodpasture syndrome, an immunologic disorder characterized by glomerulonephritis and pulmonary hemorrhage, rarely presents in pregnancy. CASE: We describe a patient who was diagnosed with Goodpasture syndrome in her second trimester. She required daily hemodialysis, intermittent plasmapheresis, and immunosuppressive therapy. Her pregnancy was complicated by hypertension, and she delivered a low birth weight neonate prematurely at 26 4/7 weeks of gestation by cesarean due to nonreassuring fetal status. Deterioration in the fetal status may have been secondary to complications of hypertension, in addition to prematurity.Entities:
