Abstract
The leiomyoma of the ovary is a very rare form of ovarian neoplasia, while its uterine localization is very common. A 72-year-old woman was admitted for pelvic examination. Transvaginal ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a pelvic mass (8 cm x 7 cm). At laparotomy, total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy were performed and histologic examination revealed a leiomyoma arising primarily in the ovary.Entities:
