Orbital peripheral T-cell lymphoma in a child.

Adam S Hassan1, Victor M Elner.

Abstract

A 6-year-old boy with known peripheral T-cell lymphoma had progressive left periorbital swelling and CT findings consistent with abscess or necrosis. Biopsy revealed peripheral T-cell lymphoma and associated necrosis involving the lacrimal gland and surrounding orbital tissue. Immunohistochemical and T-cell receptor gene rearrangement studies confirmed the diagnosis. The patient responded to local radiation and systemic chemotherapy. This is the first pathologically confirmed case of orbital peripheral T-cell lymphoma with subpanniculitic features.
