Abstract
Strategic planning has been standard practice in the business environment, but only recently added to the tools of academic institutions. This article outlines the basic steps in strategic planning and addresses differences between planning in business and academic settings. Next, the article presents specific strategies that leaders in strategic planning can use to better ensure plan implementation. Examples are taken from college/university planning, but can be readily applied to schools of nursing or health care agencies.Mesh:
