Dysthymia and double depression.

Abstract

Dysthymic disorder is a chronic form of depression which is frequently complicated by major depressive episodes. This paper renews the diagnostic status of dysthymic disorder, treatment studies, and makes suggestions for the classification of chronic forms of depression for DSM-V.
