[Some aspects of epidemiology of HCV infections in Ukraine].

Abstract

The registration of HCV infections in Ukraine is provided since 2003. Official, there were registered 1 327 cases of HCV infection in 2003 and 1 114 in 2004. In Department of Infectious Diseases in Tarnopol an increase of HCV infections prevalence was observed (0.17% in 1997, 6.09% in 2004). The number of HCV infections is higher than HBV. The most frequent HCV infections were revealed in intravenous drug users, hemodialysed and haemophiliacs. Nosocomial infections and infections of health care workers were also detected. HCV genotypes were different in dependence on the place of the study sites. It seems to be rational examination of HCV in patients with vasculitis, nephritis, arthritis and cryoglobulinaemia.
