Abstract
Bone morphogenetic proteins are multifunctional molecules having effects in many tissue types. They are members of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily. At least 40 different types have been described to date. Their potential use in tissue regeneration has led to extensive research leading to a plethora of articles being published. This article provides a brief overview of the biological activity of different BMP's involved in the fracture healing process.Entities:
