Abstract
New therapeutic options such as the highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) have significantly improved morbidity and mortality of HIV-infected patients. Consequently, age-related diseases become more manifest. In addition, HIV infection itself causes certain cardiovascular morbidity. Therefore, treatment of cardiovascular symptoms of HIV-positive patients becomes more and more important. Pharmacotherapy in these patients is complex and requires polypharmacy with drugs carrying a high risk of drug-drug interactions.Entities:
