Abstract
We report on a case of a 54-year-old man who was admitted to hospital with diffuse muscular pain and recurrent vomiting. Diagnosis of an adenocarcinoma of the esophagus was established by endosonography-guided biopsy. Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed multiple nodular lesions within the skeletal musculature; CT-guided biopsy proved the metastatic origin of the primary tumor site. The report stresses the importance of CT and MRI in patients with proven or suspected metastases to skeletal muscle and provides a short overview of the literature.Entities:
