Abstract
Migraine remains substantially underdiagnosed and undertreated in the pediatric population. The incidence and prevalence of migraine in the pediatric population is not fully appreciated. The recently revised International Headache Society (IHS) criteria, The International Classification of Headache Disorders, is a step in the right direction to improving our diagnostic accuracy. These criteria are the basis for scientific studies and serve as the foundation for future research and clinical care. In this article, the diagnostic issues related to migraine and childhood periodic syndromes in the IHS 2004 revisions are reviewed.Entities:
