Abstract
We analyse MRI findings of nine children with sickle cell disease having painful osseous attacks. The diagnosis of vaso-occlusive crisis was confirmed by negative bacteriology. MRI is useful for determining the anatomic site and the extent of acute infarcts. It gives a global view of osseous abnormalities, and contributes to differentiating acute infarcts from acute osteomyelitis.Entities:
