Abstract
Prenatal famine exposure has previously been shown to be associated with cardiovascular disease and type II diabetes in adulthood. In the current study, we could not demonstrate an effect of prenatal exposure to famine in 2254 term singletons born during the 1944-1945 Dutch famine on adult mortality up to the age of 57 years. Follow-up of this cohort will resolve whether famine exposure is linked to increased adult mortality.Entities:
