Microcarcinoids and diversion colitis in a colon defunctioned for 18 years. Report of a case.

Abstract

Submucosal microcarcinoids are described in association with diversion colitis in a colon defunctioned for 18 years. Coexistent florid neuronal hyperplasia is postulated as a cause of microcarcinoid formation.
