BACKGROUND: Juvenile papillomatosis is a proliferative epithelial lesion of the female breast, and Rosen et al. introduced it in 1980 as an entity. RESULTS: The authors present a case consistent with juvenile papillomatosis of the male breast, occurring in a 33-year-old man, who had noticed a swelling of his right breast for approximately 17 years. On review of the literature regarding epithelial proliferations of the male breast, the authors found three cases with similar histologic features. CONCLUSIONS: The case studied indicates a benign behavior of this lesion in the male breast, although no data concerning long-term prognosis are available.
