Abstract
Earlier work seems to suggest that overexpression of uncoupling protein 1 would be anti-inflammatory. However, new findings show that expression of uncoupling protein 1 in aortic smooth muscle cells of mice increases reactive oxygen species, activates the renin-angiotensin system, elevates blood pressure, and worsens atherosclerosis.Entities:
