Abstract
Diabetic nephropathy is a constantly increasing pathology in western countries. The trend is more pronounced in type 2 diabetic patients than in type 1 diabetic patients. Among individuals with type 2 diabetes, kidney disease is often multifactorial. This paper reviews recent developments in the pathophysiology, epidemiology and treatment of diabetic nephropathy.Entities:
