Abstract
We report a 16-month-old girl who presented with global developmental delay and hearing loss. Cranial magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated a pattern that could be interpreted as a "new leukoencephalopathy." Etiologic investigations revealed a positive polymerase chain reaction for cytomegalovirus DNA using her stored Guthrie card, indicating a congenital cytomegalovirus infection.Entities:
