Abstract
Achromobacter xylosoxidans is a microorganism that may cause opportunistic infections. We detected A. xylosoxidans in three of 46 patients with liver abscess. The clinicopathologic findings of the three patients were uniform with respect to a prior history of cholecystectomy, multi-lobulated 'coral-like' abscess under CT and epithelioid granulomas in the periphery of the abscess. Achromobacter xylosoxidans is an unrecognized cause of liver abscess in humans.Entities:
