Abstract
Treatment of psychiatric patients often necessitates overlapping neuroleptic medication. We report a 60-year-old woman suffering from a schizoaffective disorder who received temporarily three neuroleptics, together with lithium. She developed neurotoxic encephalopathy with symptoms of a malignant neuroleptic syndrome. It is unclear if irreversible brain damage will remain. We recommend frequent electroencephalographic controls for early detection of neurotoxicity.Entities:
