Abstract
Recanalization therapy is controversial in patients with acute stroke due to terminal internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion. A 78-year-old man underwent successful percutaneous transarterial microsnare-assisted thrombectomy (PMT) for the treatment of acute terminal ICA occlusion, which was recanalized completely. This case report suggests that PMT is a potential treatment for patients with acute embolic occlusion of the terminal ICA.Entities:
