[Hemostasis in neurosurgical operations. A comparative study between collagen fleece (Lyostypt) and a gelatine sponge (Marbagelan)].

Abstract

A study of 100 patients each with neurosurgical operations is reported, in which a prospective randomized and controlled investigation compares two haemostyptic agents, Marbagelan and Lyostypt. Collagen fleece was found superior to gelfoam as to haemostasis although slightly less convenient in application. Postoperative complications specific to the haemostyptic agents were not seen.
