Abstract
The adaptor complex AP-2 plays an important role in cargo selection and clathrin lattice formation during clathrin-mediated endocytosis. In a recent issue of Molecular Cell, Honing et al. demonstrate that high-affinity AP-2 membrane association is achieved through a combination of low-affinity interactions with membrane phosphoinositides and cargo proteins, regulated by phosphorylation.Entities:
