Abstract
When bile duct obstruction is ruled out newly developed icterus is mainly caused by infection with hepatotropic viruses, autoimmune hepatitis or drug induced hepatopathy. We report on a 30 year old previously healthy patient with cholestatic hepatitis which was caused by infection with Treponema pallidum. Cholestatic hepatitis resolved after administration of penicillin without recurrence.Entities:
