Abstract
Acute submandibular sialadenitis is rare in the neonatal period and appears to be associated with prematurity. We describe a case of a premature neonate who developed suppurative submandibular sialadenitis from a hypervirulent strain of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. The etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of this condition are discussed.Entities:
