Abstract
Adenomatoid odontogenic tumour is a benign (hamartomatous), noninvasive lesion with slow but progressive growth. The 3 variants--follicular, extrafollicular and peripheral--present with identical histological findings. This report describes a patient with a large adenomatoid odontogenic tumour in the mandible, with the involved mandibular canine being pushed to the contralateral side. The paper also provides a refresher for general dental practitioners about various diagnostic aspects of this tumour and highlights the controversies regarding its origin and management in light of recent findings.Entities:
