Abstract
An 8-year-old intact male Shih Tzu dog was admitted with acute-onset tetraplegia. Magnetic resonance imaging showed an abnormality of the cervical intramedullary spinal cord. Histopathological examination of a spinal biopsy confirmed the presence of intravascular cartilaginous emboli. This is the first report of an antemortem diagnosis of fibrocartilaginous embolism in a chondrodystrophoid breed dog.Entities:
