Abstract
BACKGROUND: Ischaemia reperfusion (IR) injury of skeletal muscle, is a significant cause of morbidity following trauma and surgical procedures, in which muscle fibre types exhibit different susceptibilities. The relative degree of mast cell mediated injury, within different muscle types, is not known.Entities:

Figure 3Muscle viability (% contralateral control) as assessed by NBT assay in the soleus (white bars), gastrocnemius (hatched bars) and EDL (black bars) muscles. All values are mean ± SEM, n = 4. * P < 0.05 Significantly different to C57BL/6, +/+ and Wf/+ mice. # P < 0.001 Significantly different to C57BL/6, +/+ and Wf/+ mice. @ P < 0.001 Significantly different to C57BL/6, +/+ and Wf/+ mice.
