Age at menarche: its relation to linear and ponderal growth.

Abstract

Longitudinal growth data from 120 schoolgirls of an homogeneous French population (canton of Chateauponsac, Central France) were analysed to obtain information concerning the onset of menarche. Following Ellison's methods (1982) on an American population, the study aimed to compare both samples in order to observe if they behaved in a similar way.
