Bowel obstruction due to Littre hernia: CT diagnosis.

R Sinha1.

Abstract

Meckel diverticulum is the commonest congenital anomaly of the gastrointestinal tract. Any hernia containing the Meckel diverticulum is termed a Littre hernia. Littre hernias are commonest in the inguinal region and may cause bowel obstruction secondary to strangulation or incarceration of the diverticulum within the hernial sac. The diagnosis of an incarcerated Littre hernia on computed tomogram has not been previously reported in the scientific literature.
