Abstract
Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans, a constituent of the oral flora, is a rare cause of brain abscesses. We report the case of a 47-year-old male who presented with multiple brain abscesses due to this organism, presumably originating from his poor dentition. Problems met in isolating and identifying A. actinomycetemcomitans suggest that its true rate of isolation from non-oral samples may have been underestimated.Entities:
