[Bone response to mechanical stimuli and promoting exercise for the treatment of osteoporosis].

Hiroshi Hagino1.

Abstract

To tolerate load and maintain morphological integrity, the bone transmits information about applied loads to osteoblasts, resulting in bone formation. This bone formation is considered controlled by factors that include the magnitude and frequency of applied loads. Dynamic and short loading that induce sufficient strain on the bone are considered effective for maintaining and increasing bone mass.
