Abstract
A mild, efficient and general method for the chemospecific alpha-oxygenation of aldehydes is described. Treatment of a series of aldehydes with N-tert-butyl-O-benzoyl hydroxylamine hydrochloride gives the corresponding alpha-oxygenated carbonyl via a proposed pericyclic rearrangement process.Entities:
