Percutaneous cryoablation of symptomatic extraabdominal metastatic disease: preliminary results.

Michael D Beland1, Damian E Dupuy, William W Mayo-Smith.

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: The objective of our study was to describe our initial experience using percutaneous cryoablation for palliation of symptomatic extraabdominal metastases or recurrent soft-tissue tumors.
CONCLUSION: Preliminary results suggest that percutaneous cryoablation may offer a minimally invasive alternative for relief of symptomatic metastatic disease in patients for whom conventional therapy failed.
