Abstract

The Si-C bond of N,N-dimethylcarbamoylsilanes added regiospecifically to the C=C bond of electrophilically functionalized alkenes to afford beta-silyl-beta-functionalized amides. Carbonyl addition products were formed when hindered alkenic esters were used. [reaction: see text]
