Abstract
A simple technique is described for performing repeat samplings in fine-needle aspirations (FNA) without the need for further needle insertions. This technique is advocated for puncture of deeply situated masses and has proved useful in FNA of 726 lesions in various regions yielding a low rate of inadequate material (7.3%), false-negative results (2.5%), and complications. When compared with standard techniques, this technique has the essential advantage that the aspirated material can be judged visually for adequacy before the biopsy needle is withdrawn.Mesh:
