Surgical vermillion augmentation: different possibilities.

Abstract

In 1981 the author described a surgical technique to augment thin lips: a double YV mucosal plasty. Satisfactory and lasting results are achieved with this technique, mainly in young patients. Today, the author sometimes uses a fascia temporalis graft for lip augmentation. In patients over 40 he recommends that the temporalis fascia craft be combined with the double YV mucosal plasty.
