Abstract

Desmoplastic infantile ganglioglioma (DIG) is a rare intracranial tumor affecting newborns and infants, and generally arising in the supratentorial region. We report a case of an unusual DIG, arising at the cervico-medullary junction, with diffuse leptomeningeal seeding at diagnosis that was treated with chemotherapy (CT) and delayed partial surgery. The case we describe demonstrates that DIG can occur in the subtentorial region and can show leptomeningeal dissemination like other low-grade gliomas. 2005 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
