Abstract
In this issue of Structure, Davies et al., 2005, present shape reconstructions for the molecular motor p97 using small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and offer insights into how ATP consumption is coupled to cyclical domain motions. This work emphasizes the emerging potential of SAXS for visualizing the workings of biological machines in solution.Entities:
