Abstract
This paper provides a high-level summary of the literature concerning barriers to disseminating research findings about medication use into clinical practice. Various interventions targeting patients or providers are reviewed. Conceptual models for understanding the multiple barriers to dissemination are critically reviewed, and an alternative framework is proposed that considers the perspective of both providers and patients and the characteristics of treatments. Areas of further research are suggested.Entities:
