This flowchart shows how the case studies and other articles within this issue ofPreventing Chronic Disease relate to one another. Two papers describe the Special Action Groups that provide the “glue” that holds together the other five components, or target populations, of the Border Health Strategic Initiative: People with Diabetes, Providers, Families of People with Diabetes, Communities, and Schools. Arrows point from the Special Action Group to each of the five components. Each component represents a case study within this issue. Arrows also point from the Special Action Group to “Existing Partnerships” and “New Partnerships” to indicate that the Special Action Groups interacted with these two kinds of partnerships, as described in the text.
