Abstract
While bony ankylosis secondary to heterotopic ossification (HO) following total hip arthroplasty (THA) is well known to produce disability in the hip, much less has been written about the development of heterotopic ossification about the knee after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Additionally, to our knowledge, there has been no published case of complete bony ankylosis of the knee following total knee arthroplasty. We present such a case in a 53 year old male who underwent a primary total knee arthroplasty after resolution of septic arthritis.Entities:
