Abstract
There has been much discussion in the literature concerning the medical evaluation of the psychiatric patient. The medical evaluation of the psychiatric patient involves obtaining a history, performing an appropriate physical and mental status examination, and testing, when indicated. This review applies the rigors of evidence-based evaluation of the medical literature that is currently available to determine when it is safe to place a patient with behavioral complaints under psychiatric care.Entities:
